Dobson Road and Chandler Boulevard Sewer and Water Improvements

This project is constructing improvements to sanitary sewer pipes, access manholes, and water infrastructure near the intersection of Dobson Road and Chandler Boulevard. The aging infrastructure in this area was prioritized for replacement in the City of Chandler’s Master Plan.

This project is being completed in three phases. The sewer phase is nearly complete and will rehabilitate approximately 4,400 linear feet of sewer using a polyester resin cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) liner; install approximately 449 linear feet of sewer lines ranging in size from 12 inches to 36 inches; abandon approximately 438 linear feet; and install seven manholes. Bypasses have been utilized to allow continued use of the sewer lines during construction.

The mill and overlay phase will mill and overlay the intersection of Dobson Road and Chandler Boulevard. The water phase will replace approximately 8,500 linear feet of water mains with ductile iron pipe and update the existing infrastructure along the alignment, including backflows and fire hydrants.

Dibble CM provided preconstruction assistance and is providing construction management and inspection services. We are also reviewing the construction schedule, requests for information, submittals, requests for proposals, field directives, and contractor payment applications. Our tasks also include coordinating quality assurance testing, reviewing record drawings, and providing project closeout.

The project has faced challenges such as caving trenches, hard and rock digs, and unknown unmarked unclaimed utilities. The active participation of all stakeholders has contributed to a project that is currently on schedule and within budget. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2024.
