Building From the Ground Up: Progress at Sweetwater with the Navajo Department of Transportation
Dibble CM supported the Navajo Department of Transportation on the Sweetwater roadway improvements, a project that delivered a smoother, safer, and longer‑lasting route for the community. From early groundwork to detailed finishing activities, each step played a vital role in strengthening the corridor’s long‑term performance.
Throughout the project, our team provided construction management oversight as key milestones took shape in the field. Asphalt materials were tested to ensure quality and durability, helping create a smooth and reliable driving surface. Crews also installed erosion control measures by placing concrete mats—an important component in protecting the roadway from stormwater impacts and safeguarding nearby land.
One of the most critical phases was pouring the spillway, designed to safely direct water and prevent flooding or washouts during heavy rain events. This work helped to reinforce the roadway’s resilience and support safe travel across the region.
